Story 1

Duck Head from power supplies recalled

Link to Apple Support Site

Basically if you have a “Duck Head” that is in the faulty group, take it to an Apple Store with the serial number of your iPhone, iPad or Mac and get it exchanged

Identifying your wall plug adapter

Compare your adapter to the images below. An affected wall plug adapter has 4 or 5 characters or no characters on the inside slot where it attaches to an Apple power adapter. Redesigned adapters have a 3-letter regional code in the slot (EUR, KOR, AUS, ARG or BRA).

Story 2

iMore reports Apple FY 2016 First Quarter results are in, and Apple still made a ton of money.

Quoting

“Our record sales and strong margins drove all-time records for net income and EPS in spite of a very difficult macroeconomic environment,” said Luca Maestri, Apple’s CFO.

“We generated operating cash flow of $27.5 billion during the quarter, and returned over $9 billion to investors through share repurchases and dividends. We have now completed $153 billion of our $200 billion capital return program.”

In English

So Apple beat expectations on earnings, but fell short on revenue and unit sales. In other words, the company made a ton of money in profits but off of sales that weren’t quite as large as Wall Street expected.

Story 3

Ad-supported iTunes Radio stations are no more.

Complaint comments similar to this are at sites reporting this story

I am an iTunes match customer and I am in the middle of my contract. When I resigned the contract, the ad free iTunes radio was advertised as part of what I was purchasing. Even though it was an afterthought with iTunes match, it was nice having. I too, was never notified by Apple of the change. I assumed or assume they might refund a partial amount of what I paid for iTunes match, in good faith.

Story 4

New “Shot on iPhone 6s” coming

On a brighter note

Similar to last year’s #ShotOniPhone6 campaign, this year’s World Gallery is going to be every bit as inspiring.

The gallery includes 53 photos from 41 photographers that will be featured in 85 cities in 26 countries around the world. The overarching theme this year, if there is one, appears to be people — children, women, and men living their lives, doing their jobs, and being in the moment.

While some of the artists featured are professionals, others are everyday people inspired by the world around them and able to use the iPhones 6s to capture what they see and feel.

How To 1

A friend of the show was talking to me to this week

Was having watch issues

1/ not getting messages on the watch

2/ getting random app issues

So re-pairing the phone fixed the random app issues

But to fix the Messages issue we had to restart the iPhone – even after re-pairing the watch
