Under the agreement, IBM will deploy 550 iPads and 900 Fiberlink MaaS360 Mobile Device Management licences to manage the College’s new and existing iPad fleet, and facilitate its mission of providing an inclusive education for all students. To help eliminate up front capital investment, the College will fund the agreement via IBM’s Global Financing options.
St Virgil’s selected IBM for its experience with MaaS360 in managing its device fleet, and IBM’s MobileFirst for iOS partnership with Apple. The deployed MDM solution will continue to ensure the College maintains its fleet of iPads effectively, from centrally provisioning wireless access, app deployment, email setup, security and document distribution to using group management features in order to monitor anything deemed inappropriate, and control device settings as appropriate to each student’s age.
